Bank Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV), based in Lausanne, is one of the few Swiss banks that allow non-resident Canadians to open an account. This also provides you with an equities trading account and also trading in precious metals.
You can trade in 35 markets in Europe and North America. The main ones are:
SIX Swiss Exchange, NASDAQ, NYSE, American, Deutsche Börse (Frankfurt), London Stock Exchange, Euronext, Paris, Bruxelles, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Toronto Stock Exchange, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Borsa Italiana, Oslo Stock Exchange, Wiener Boerse, Nordic Exchange Stockholm, North Stockholm Equities, Stockholm Equities, Bolsas y Mercados Espanoles.

If you instead use BCV TradeDirect or another self-directed online trading service, the fee schedule may differ from the standard advisory brokerage tariff.

Custody (account administration) fee:
BCV TradeDirect also charges a custody fee of:
- 0.025% per quarter of the value of securities held online
- Minimum CHF 10 per quarter
- Maximum CHF 25 per quarter
This corresponds to roughly 0.10% per year, capped at CHF 100 annually for securities tradable through TradeDirect. Securities that cannot be traded online incur an additional 0.025% per quarter.
